It's strange to think about such things when watching a movie, but the thing is most of the top Disney stories DID have some crazy people in them. For example Ariel as a hoarder (Disposophobia), or Belle with a pretty severe Schizoid Personality disorder. (For those who want to read the article, here is the link.
And since I've been watching The Big Bang Theory (Yes, Emő, I finally started watching it) recently, I just had to make up a list of people who have some serious issues.
1. The Big Bang Theory
I'll start with this one, since I already mentioned it. Sheldon Cooper has Aspergers Syndrome, and obsessive-compulsive personality disorder. Sheldon thinks that to have more then four friends at the same time is much too stressful for him, he hates it when someone stops him when he is trying to explain something. If this happens: a tic starts on his face until he can complete what he wants to say, he cannot detect sarcasm, can't lie or keep a secret. The obsessive-compulsive syndrome is hinted at in many episodes too, for example he sneaks put in the middle of the night to clean out Penny's house.
2. Monk
Adrian Monk, a fine detective indeed, is suffering from OCD too. The illness is "A gift, and a curse" as it drives him nuts but also makes him exceptionally perceptive when sleuthing. He compulsively cleans everything, he is obsessed by symmetry, and perfection. Tho I don't watch the series anymore, I've seen a few episodes. The one that comes to my mind is when he is offered to take a test to get back into the police, and he doesn't even manage to answer one question because he keeps sharpening his pencils so they match their size, only to realize that he took too much from one or the other, than starting over.
3. Pokémon
Ah, yes the greatest show from my childhood. All those furry little creatures were too cute to miss. And they probably got our mind off of Ash, who apparently has OCD too. He obsessively categorized every single animal he could find, he tracked their attributes, traced their growths, and attributed elemental types to them, which had no scientific basis. When he is confronted about this, his only answer is: Gotta catch 'em all. Ah, those crazy kids...
4. House
OK, I don't watch this show. I never did, and I'm not in the mood for it at all. But we are not here to discuss this, so let's see... Dr. Gregory House has obvious Schizophrenia. He has unpredictable emotional responses, bizarre behaviors, lack of impulse control, flattened affect, declining personal appearance, paranoia, hallucinations and disorganized thinking. Personally I would have kicked him out of that place before he could utter "Everybody lies".
5. Looney tunes
Well, if I added Pokémon to the list, I'll add this one too. Looney tunes is probably the craziest cartoon ever. And we all loved it. Let's see what each character had, tho. Tasmanian Devil is obviously suffering from severe hyperactivity. He has quite a poor impulse control, don't you think? He must also have some ADHD because his distractibility keeps being his undoing every single time. Daffy Duck has paranoid personality disorder. He is suspicious of everyone’s motives, bears grudges and trusts no one. This behavior consistently alienates him form others, only further aggravating his paranoid ideation. Yosemite Sam is obviously antisocial, since he always disregards others rights, He fails to respect the law, is unable to delay gratification and is deceitful in his dealings with others. He is irritable and aggressive, resulting in frequent fights or assaults. Pepe le Pew is narcissistic. He is preoccupied with fantasies of ideal love and therefore follows and victimizes a helpless and hapless feline. Tweety is a typical passive aggressive personality, since he maintains a pose of innocence while engineering all sorts of horrible events for Sylvester. As I said... the looney gang, are looney indeed.
